What is a Group Break?
GROUP BREAK – is a method where multiple people share the cost of purchasing trading card boxes (either multiple boxes or even a full case of a product). The cards are then distributed among participants based on the team they select (purchase).
GROUP BREAKS can involve any trading card box (or case) product, such as UD MVP, Artifacts, Black Diamond, The CUP, etc.
This is a great alternative to buying an entire case or multiple boxes, which would be difficult for an individual collector to afford. If you're interested in a specific player or team, this offers a great opportunity to obtain valuable cards at a relatively low cost. For example, a case of UD Series 1 might cost around 35,000 CZK, which is quite expensive for most collectors. Let’s say you are only interested in cards of the New York Rangers. The price for each team in the break might be around 1,500 CZK. This means that for that price, you will receive all the cards of your chosen team from the entire case! Other collectors will receive all the cards of their selected teams, and so on.
GROUP BREAK IS A GREAT WAY TO PARTICIPATE IN A BIG PURCHASE WITH MINIMAL COSTS.
HOW DOES A GROUP BREAK WORK?
There are many different types of Group Breaks. We will use multiple methods, always choosing the one that is the most beneficial for the specific type of product.
BASIC GROUP BREAK VARIANTS:
TEAM SELECTION – also known as TEAM BUY GB – The price varies based on the popularity of the teams (this is our most used method).
For example, Colorado Avalanche or New York Rangers are more popular, so they will be in a higher price range (e.g., 2,999 CZK), whereas Winnipeg Jets might be in a lower price range (e.g., 499 CZK).
Sometimes, the price of a team may also be influenced by exciting rookies. So theoretically, if a full case of a new product is being opened and there is an outstanding rookie from Florida Panthers (a team that is usually cheaper), the price for that team might be higher than usual.
- VÝBĚR TÝMŮ - tzv. TEAM BUY GB plus VÝBĚR HRÁČE/PLAYER BUY - od roku 2023 - odstupňovaná cena dle oblíbenosti týmů v kombinaci s nákupem všech karet jednotlivého hráče.
Výhodou je, že pokud zakoupíte hráče, který bude v nabídce daného Group Breaku, všechny jeho karty jsou automaticky vaše a to i včetně těch, kde se bude hráč nacházet na kartě v kombinaci s jinými hráči, tedy se o takovou kartu nebude losovat!
Example: If you purchase the Anaheim Ducks team position in a Group Break, and at the same time, the player Trevor Zegras (currently playing for Anaheim Ducks) is available for purchase, all Trevor Zegras cards will go to the person who bought the “Trevor Zegras” position, not to the person who purchased the “Anaheim Ducks” position.
The price of teams that have players available for individual purchase will naturally be adjusted (reduced) accordingly.
Cards of players—especially legends or older players—who have multiple cards for different teams in the product checklist (e.g., Dominik Hašek might have cards for both Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings in the same product) will also be assigned to the person who purchased the player’s position, not the positions of those teams.
RANDOM GB – This variant includes 32 teams (positions), meaning 32 collectors/customers. Each customer selects one position, and the price per position is the same for everyone.
After all positions are paid for, teams are assigned randomly using www.random.org (we use the paid version of Multi Round Giveaway for all randomizations).
This means that teams are randomly assigned, making this an exciting Group Break variant with an added level of adrenaline, as you won’t know which team you’ll receive!
VÝBĚR TEAMŮ
Teams can be selected in a dedicated section on www.hokej-karty.cz whenever a Group Break is in progress – HERE. We announce it on our website as well as on our Facebook page.
You can add your favorite team to your cart and select a shipping method. Only prepayment via bank transfer or credit card payment is accepted – no other payment methods are available.
All Group Breaks must be paid by the following day after ordering, usually by 16:00, so that we can start opening the boxes as soon as all teams are sold out.
For a Group Break to take place, all teams in the offering must be sold out. A specific date for the box/case opening will always be announced, but it may be moved forward or delayed depending on when all teams are sold and payments are completed.
PRODUCT UNBOXING – THE BREAK ITSELF
Once all teams are sold and payments for all teams have been received in our account, we proceed with unboxing the boxes/cases.

SHIPPING CARDS TO CUSTOMERS
After the unboxing, the cards will be sorted and shipped to customers within 3 business days via couriers or Česká pošta as a registered package. Cards are carefully packed to prevent damage (using cardboard, bubble mailers, and for high-value cards, toploaders or OT holders, etc.).
Delivery time via Česká pošta: 1 to 5 business days
Delivery time to Slovakia: 3 to 7 business days
Shipment tracking is available according to the standards of www.hokej-karty.cz.
It is not possible to send cards by regular mail without a tracking number.
Each customer will receive all cards from their selected team(s), including base cards, inserts, memorabilia, etc., unless otherwise stated in the Group Break description.
(For example, in case breaks of Series 1, Series 2, MVP, etc., duplicate base cards are not shipped.)
GROUP BREAK VIDEO
Each Group Break will be recorded with sound and card descriptions.
All Group Breaks from www.hokej-karty.cz will be available on our YouTube channel. Each Group Break will have a scheduled unboxing date, and all videos will be broadcasted LIVE.
PAYMENT
Payment is only possible in advance via bank transfer or credit card.
Payments must be received no later than the next business day after ordering to speed up the product unboxing.
If the payment is not received within the given timeframe, the unpaid team will be offered to other customers. If no one purchases it after being relisted, the cards will be forfeited to the Group Break operator, www.hokej-karty.cz.
All shipments will be sent to the address provided in your order or the registered address in your account on www.hokej-karty.cz.
If you want your Group Break cards to be sent to a different address, you must specify it in your order.
RANDOMIZER
If a Group Break includes randomly assigned teams, the process will be done using a randomizer.
The random draw video will be available on our YouTube channel and website.
We use the paid version of Random.org – Multi Round Giveaway for all randomizations.
MULTIPLAYER CARDS
Cards featuring multiple players from different teams (e.g., Gretzky – EDM, Messier – NYR, Lemieux – PIT) will be randomized at the end of the unboxing among all teams shown on the card.
CARDS OF PLAYERS IN ALL-STAR TEAM JERSEYS
These cards will be assigned to the team the player was playing for at the time of the All-Star Game.
If the team cannot be determined from the card's image, a randomizer will be used.
Example: A Wayne Gretzky All-Star Game card would be randomized among Edmonton Oilers, LA Kings, St. Louis Blues, and NY Rangers.
CARDS OF PLAYERS IN NATIONAL TEAM JERSEYS
These cards will be assigned to the team the player was playing for at the time of the photo.
If the club cannot be determined, the randomizer will be used.
Example: A Wayne Gretzky card in a Team Canada jersey would be randomized among Edmonton Oilers, LA Kings, St. Louis Blues, and NY Rangers.
PLAYER IN A DIFFERENT JERSEY THAN THE TEAM LOGO ON THE CARD
A card always belongs to the team listed on the card, not the team shown in the player's photo.
This happens when a player is traded before the cards are printed, and the publisher doesn’t have a photo of them in the new team’s jersey yet.

The price of each team or position in Group Breaks on www.hokej-karty.cz is always listed without shipping costs.
DEFUNCT NHL TEAMS – HOW THEY ARE HANDLED
Defunct teams are always assigned to their successor team:
Atlanta Thrashers → Winnipeg Jets (new)
Winnipeg Jets (original, pre-1996) → Phoenix Coyotes (now Arizona Coyotes)
Quebec Nordiques → Colorado Avalanche
Hartford Whalers → Carolina Hurricanes
Minnesota North Stars → Dallas Stars

Every Group Break in our store includes an exciting bonus in the form of extra boxes or packs, which is not factored into the price!
The bonus will always be stated in the Group Break description.
Limit on purchases per person - There are no purchase limits in our Group Breaks – you can buy any number of teams or positions.
Order cancelation policy - If a position is not paid by 14:30 on the following day, it will be automatically canceled and offered to other customers.Customers can cancel an unpaid order at any time for any reason.However, once a position (team) is paid for, the order cannot be canceled. Only unpaid orders can be canceled.
Checklist cards with multiple teams - Checklist cards featuring multiple teams are not included in the random draw in our Group Breaks. An exception applies to Young Guns checklists with two star rookies or limited-edition checklist cards, which will be randomized.
Case Breaks of series 1, series 2, MVP, etc. - these products contain many base cards, so duplicate base cards will not be sent.
This rule does not apply to high-value base cards from premium sets such as The CUP, SPx, Black Diamond, Stature, Chronology, etc. – all base cards from these products will be sent.
Duplicates of all other card types (inserts, memorabilia, etc.) are always sent without exceptions.U case Group Breaků sérií typu Series 1 a 2, MVP apod., kde je větší množství řadových karet od každého druhu, duplicitní řadové karty nezasíláme.
